About this “cowgirl”

I have been a back yard rider all my life…  Even when I only dreamed of riding, I dreamed ALWAYS of riding.  I got my first horse when I was in 3rd grade and haven’t looked back.

I learned to ride *for real*, lol, at a ranch that bred & trained world class reiners…  full of $50,000 horses and cowboys.  I’ve had broke horses, green horses and horses that haven’t been touched.  I enjoy them all, but mostly, I enjoy what I learn from each one.

Professionally I’ve worked with champion bred Arabian and Quarter Horse halter ranches.  This gave me a new appreciation for being quick and paying attention to sublte cues to keep myself safe!  :-)

A few years off to have my own babies has brought me a new appreciation for REALLY listening to the horse and figuring out what they are thinking about during our sessions together.  I’m learning that finding their thought and bringing it to me works MUCH better than just getting them to do the mechanics of what I’m asking for.

I enjoy learning to refine my riding skills, but mostly I LOVE a good hack out on our lovely trails here in Cool.

I have aspirations of living a more “homestead” style life, as long as I can still get high speed internet, lol.  I am a modern cowgirl, afterall.  Hubby and I both work from home and we homeschool our kids.  I’m a baby-wearing, cloth diapering, make my own bread kind of gal… But I also enjoy the finer things in life, (like heated leather seats and my hazelnut coffee creamer, lol) it doesn’t take much to keep me happy!

Visit my web site at http://www.NaturallyCowgirl.com and find my hand made soap, candles and such as well as Leslie’s homemade horse cookies.   This is how I keep horses and helps us pay our bills :~)  My whole family thanks you!!!
